Barbed Wire Cowboy by Renee Stevens is a lovers to enemies back to lovers story. Yes, you read that right. Two guys who connect, sleep together, one of them flips out and makes it hell for both of them for awhile.Marc and Casey are opposites in so many ways and the way they have dealt with their pasts have shaped them into who they are now. Marc came out to his family and lost their love. He built the life he has now and I had so much respect for his character right from the get-go. He's the type of person who you look at and say, "that's a man who has worked hard for everything he has and appreciates everything."
But Casey? His dark past and the fear of it all coming out is far more dangerous than coming clean. Fear is a great motivator but Casey was looking on the wrong side of the spectrum.
This is a ramped up story in the emotion department. So much anger and hostility for a good portion of this book. Of course, it's all worth it in the end so keep that in mind. I enjoyed this.
